Privacy, plainly.
The short version
JoyPointer has no account, no analytics, and no telemetry. The only data it ever sends is what is required to activate and periodically confirm your license, and a request for the update feed. This website has no analytics or advertising.
What the app sends, and to whom
- License activation, validation, deactivation. When you activate a license, about once a week afterwards, and when you deactivate, JoyPointer sends your license key and this Mac's computer name (used as the activation label) to the Lemon Squeezy License API over HTTPS. Lemon Squeezy returns the license status and the purchaser email associated with the order, which JoyPointer shows to you in masked form and stores only on your Mac.

Update checks. JoyPointer periodically downloads a small signed update
feed from
https://joypointer.heg.wtf/appcast.xmland, if you accept an update, the installer from GitHub Releases. These requests carry the standard information any HTTPS request carries, such as your IP address and app version, and are served by GitHub Pages and GitHub Releases under GitHub's privacy statement.
Nothing about your controller input, pointer movement, keystrokes, or the apps you use ever leaves your Mac.
What is stored on your Mac
Your license key, activation instance identifier, and the masked purchaser email are stored in the macOS Keychain. Pointer speed, dead zone, button mapping, and the list of apps that pause JoyPointer are stored in the app's preferences. Removing the app and its Keychain item removes all of it.
Permissions
JoyPointer requests the Accessibility permission to move the pointer, post clicks and scroll events, and toggle the macOS Keyboard Viewer. It uses Apple's GameController framework to read your controller. It does not read screen contents.
Purchases
JoyPointer is sold through Lemon Squeezy, which is the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy processes your payment, collects applicable taxes, issues the receipt and license key, and handles refunds under Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy. HEG Inc. receives your name, email address, country, and order details so we can support you and honor your license. HEG never sees your card number.
Children
JoyPointer does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
Material changes will appear on this page with an updated effective date.
